The ChatGPT service from OpenAI has encountered significant issues impacting users worldwide.
Since early morning, there have been notable difficulties accessing the platform, as reported by the monitoring site Downdetector.
ChatGPT Outage: Why is OpenAI's service down, and what is known about the errors
Users are overwhelmingly reporting their inability to load chats or receive responses, instead encountering a system error message saying, “Something went wrong.”
The first reports of the malfunction began coming in around 10:00 AM Kyiv time, with the issues rapidly spreading across numerous countries.
On the official OpenAI status page, they confirmed the existence of problems, stating there was an “increased number of errors and delays.”
The issues have affected not only ChatGPT but also the video creation tool Sora and the API.
Approximately at 1:00 PM, the company updated their information, classifying the ChatGPT issues as a “partial outage” and separating the Sora problems into a distinct category.
Malfunctions manifest differently for users: some report extremely slow service and significant delays in responses, while others continue to use the chatbot without visible issues.
Representatives from OpenAI officially stated that they are continuing to investigate the incident.
As of now, the causes of the outage and an estimated time for full service restoration have not been disclosed.
