Google has unveiled a live translation feature for video meetings that will greatly enhance user communication.

At the Google I/O 2025 conference, Google announced the introduction of a groundbreaking live translation feature for its Google Meet service. Users will now be able to enjoy automatic translation from Spanish to English in real-time with minimal delay.

According to the company's statements, the new translation technology offers communication that closely resembles natural conversation, as it not only conveys the content but also preserves the emotions, speech rhythm, and even facial expressions of the speaker. This will significantly enhance the quality of international video meetings, allowing participants to speak in their native languages while artificial intelligence handles the intricate details.

Until now, Meet users had to rely on live captions for translation, which required them to read text while conversing. The new feature will enable them to focus entirely on the dialogue without the distraction of textual hints.

The feature is currently available in beta for subscribers of the Google AI Pro and Ultra plans. It is expected to be rolled out to corporate users later this year as part of early testing. Google also plans to expand support for additional languages in the coming weeks.
