Google has officially announced that the stable version of Android 16 will be available in June 2025. This was stated by Allen Huang, the product management director for Pixel and Android, during a briefing ahead of The Android Show, as reported by Android Authority.

According to him, the refreshed Material 3 Expressive design will debut later this year, initially on Pixel devices. This change will not be part of the public release of Android 16 in June.

While the exact launch date for the operating system has not been specified, there have been unofficial reports suggesting a release on June 3. Google is expected to provide more details during the I/O conference starting on May 20.

Following the rollout of Android 16 for Pixel, other manufacturers will gradually announce their updates. In particular, Samsung is preparing a beta version of One UI 8 based on Android 16.

Additionally, it was announced at The Android Show that the Gemini AI assistant will be integrated into Android Auto, along with the new Wear OS 6 based on Android 16.
