Ukrainian snooker player Julian Boyko kicked off his world championship qualification campaign with an emphatic victory over Andrew Padgett.
The match concluded with a score of 10:2, and Boyko showcased his skills with two century breaks of 129 and 128 points.
In the next round, he will face English player Louis Heathcote. The qualification event will run from April 7 to 16 at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. To advance to the last 16, Julian must overcome three more opponents.
In another qualification match, Anton Kazakov narrowly lost to Jimmy White in a 19-frame contest, with a score of 10:9. After leading 7:3, the Ukrainian lost his advantage and was defeated in the final frame.
It’s worth noting that just prior, Julian Boyko won the gold medal at the U-21 European Championship.
