European Judo Championship: Ukrainian Athletes Shine

Ukrainian athletes won silver and bronze medals at the European Judo Championship held in Chisinau.

The European Judo Championship for athletes under 23 took place in Chisinau, Moldova, from October 31 to November 2, featuring over 300 participants from 37 countries.
The Ukrainian team was represented by a full squad of 18 athletes, split evenly between men and women. By the end of the competition, our judokas claimed two medals.
Olha Tsymko secured a silver medal in the under 70 kg category, narrowly losing to a representative from Sweden in the finals. This marks her first medal at the European youth championship.
Additionally, the Ukrainian team earned a bronze in the mixed team event, decisively defeating the Portuguese team with a score of 4:1. The medal-winning squad included Said-Magomed Khalidov, Denys Doktorov, Yaroslav Omelchenko, Mykola Grybik, Inna Shynkarenko, Serhii Sokyrko, Daria Boichenko, Anna Oliynyk-Korniyko, and Anna Kazakova.
