The Ukrainian women's beach soccer team kicked off their Euroleague-2025 finals campaign with a significant win. They faced off against Italy, securing a 4:2 victory.
The first opportunity to score fell to Anastasia Terekh, but her powerful shot was slightly off. The Italians also had a chance but the first half ended goalless.
The deadlock was broken at the start of the second half when Anna Prokopenko skillfully found the net from the center – 1:0. Shortly after, Terekh struck again, with a deflected shot making it 2:0!
The Italians fought back and equalized with a rebound goal after a hit on the post – 2:2. However, in the final moments, Ukrainian girls regained the lead: Anna Shulha scored twice, sealing the win at 4:2.
This victory allows the team to advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

Recall that Italy previously lost to Spain 0:3 in their first match of the tournament. The Ukrainian team will next face the Spaniards on September 12 at 17:45. In the women's finals, there are two groups of three teams each, with the winners vying for the Euroleague-2025 trophy. Last year, the Ukrainian women finished 5th in the Euroleague.
