The Board of Directors of World Boxing has approved the application from the Boxing Federation of Ukraine.
This is reported by the press service of the FBU.
"This opens doors for our athletes to participate in all tournaments under the World Boxing banner, including World Cups and championships, as well as other international competitions. Each of our boxers steps into the ring not just for medals but for the honor of the country. The Boxing Federation of Ukraine is doing everything possible to advance Ukrainian boxing, support our athletes, and achieve new victories," – stated the Boxing Federation of Ukraine.
On September 4, the first World Boxing Championship will kick off in Liverpool, featuring representatives from Ukraine. A total of 20 sets of medals will be contested for both men and women.
The IOC has awarded the rights to organize Olympic boxing tournaments to the International Boxing Association (IBA), led by Russian Umar Kremlev.
In 2023, the organization World Boxing was established to ensure the sport's inclusion in the Olympic Games program. In March 2025, the IOC officially included boxing in the Olympic schedule.
