On August 2, 2025, the «Lokomotiv» Stadium in Kyiv celebrated its centenary. Opened in 1925 for sports competitions among railway station workers, it quickly became a symbol of strength and dedication to sports. Just a decade after its inauguration, the arena received its legendary name — «Lokomotiv».

This was reported by the company's CEO, Oleksandr Pertzovsky.

In honor of the anniversary, a children's tournament was held at the stadium for young athletes born between 2015 and 2018. The teams received new uniforms, generously donated by the Paris City Hall, personally from Mayor Anne Hidalgo, who has become a supporter of the Kyiv club.

«Lokomotiv» is home to the oldest sports club in Ukraine with a rich history:

  • over 1500 trainees, including ten children from internally displaced families;
  • 10 Olympic champions;
  • dozens of European and world champions;
  • over 200 victories in prestigious tournaments;
  • a professional football team competing in the Second League.

In January 2024, the stadium suffered severe damage from Russian missiles that destroyed the sports hall, locker rooms, and all equipment. On the same day, American philanthropist and club partner Howard Buffett reached out. He assured that the stadium would be fully rebuilt, and a complete sports complex is planned.

Currently, design work is ongoing, and construction of the club's new location in Chokolovka is nearing completion.

All necessary permits have been obtained, so soon the first phase of reconstruction will begin: updating the football field, building a new stand, equipping locker rooms, providing space for referees, and creating an urban park.
