The Ukrainian women's fencing team has reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 World Championship.

Today, July 28, at the world championship taking place in Tbilisi, the Ukrainian fencers faced 'neutral' athletes from Russia in the round of 16.

The Ukrainian team included Daria Myroniuk, Alina Polozyuk, and Olga Sopyt. After the first five matches, the Ukrainians were trailing with a score of 18:19. However, after the sixth duel, Ukraine took the lead and maintained it throughout the match.

Ultimately, the Ukrainian team secured a victory with a score of 45:36, earning a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2025 World Championship.

Unfortunately, in the semifinal match, the Ukrainians lost to the Italian team with a score of 34:45.

Additionally, on July 27, Alina Komashchuk won a bronze medal at the 2025 World Championship.
