The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has mandated Oleksandr Usyk, the undefeated heavyweight champion, to face interim champion Joseph Parker.

This was announced by the organization's press service.

The boxers' teams have been given 30 days to reach an agreement on the fight; otherwise, promotional bidding will take place.

If Usyk declines to defend his WBO title, it will become vacant, and he will lose his status as the heavyweight champion.

It is worth noting that Usyk recently knocked out Daniel Dubois, reclaiming his title as the world heavyweight champion for the second time, making history as the first to achieve this feat.

Parker last fought in February, where he was set to face Dubois, but the Brit withdrew due to illness, leading to Martin Bakole stepping in. Parker secured a knockout victory in the second round.

Following Usyk’s match with Dubois, both he and Parker discussed the possibility of their fight.
