Ukrainian U-20 Team Triumphs Over Finland in Friendly Match

Head coach of the Ukrainian U-20 team, Valeriy Plekhanov, commented on the team's victory in a friendly match against Finland and discussed the injury situation.

Valeriy Plekhanov, the head coach of the Ukrainian U-20 team, provided insights on the recent victory against Finland U-20 in their second friendly match, particularly mentioning the injury of a key player, Luka Lohmanychuk.

Plekhanov's comments were shared by the Basketball Federation of Ukraine.

The coach expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players but noted that there are concerns regarding injuries among some team members.

"Unfortunately, Sypalo sustained an injury. While attempting to score, he injured his shoulder, and we decided to prioritize his health. I hope he will return to training in a few days. As for Lohmanychuk’s injury, we agreed that he would definitely participate in the European Championship and be included in the final roster for the tournament," Plekhanov stated.

The second match against the Finns concluded the preparation phase for the European Championship in Division A. Our team managed to take revenge for the loss in the first encounter.

EuroBasket 2025 in Division A for U-20 men’s teams will take place in Heraklion, Greece, from July 12 to 20. The Ukrainian team has been placed in Group C, where they will compete against Belgium, Germany, and Italy.
