The Ukrainian volleyball team delivered an outstanding performance against Cuba in the Nations League, marking the highest block count in official matches over the last four years.

The encounter concluded with a victory for the Ukrainians in the tiebreaker. Throughout the match, the Ukrainian players executed 17 blocks, with Yuri Semenyuk standing out by achieving 5 blocks.

The last time the team showcased such a performance was during the group stage of the 2021 European Championship against Portugal, with a total of 19 blocks.

This achievement also represents a record for Ukraine under the guidance of Argentine coach Raul Lozano, who took charge of the team in 2024 (having already coached 13 matches). The match against Cuba surpassed the block count from the final of the 2024 Golden European League against Croatia, where there were 14 blocks.
