Olga Korsun made her mark at the World Athletics Continental Tour stage in triple jump, winning silver at the athletics event in Tokyo.
After a successful performance at the Ukrainian Championship 2025, where she earned a silver medal indoors, Olga prepared for the summer season following recovery from a back injury. At the recent European Indoor Championships, she did not reach the final, finishing in 15th place.

At the Continental Tour stage in Tokyo, Olga kicked off her 2025 summer season, aiming for a podium finish. Her competitors included 2015 European Champion Dovile Kilty, 2024 Oceania Champion Desley Owusu, and 2023 Asian Champion Mariko Morimoto.
How did the triple jump competition go in Tokyo?
- After her first jump of 13.53 m, Olga took the lead in the competition. In her second attempt, she did not register a valid jump, and in her third, she only managed 13.39 m.
- Olga's competitor, 25-year-old Japanese athlete Maoko Takashima, surpassed her mark twice: in the second attempt by 8 cm and then with a jump of 13.66 m in the third round.
- Out of her last three attempts, Korsun cleared 13.40 m twice but it wasn't enough to contest Takashima for the gold. Ultimately, her best result was 13.53 m, earning her the silver medal, while the podium was completed by another Japanese athlete, Akari Funada.
