On April 7, a Nissan Leaf was completely destroyed by fire in Kyiv, belonging to a 67-year-old doctor, with police now investigating the suspected arsonist.

Details: According to Araik Kochakdamyan, head of the Holosiivskyi police department, the suspect is a 36-year-old resident of Kirovohrad region.
Direct quote: "The suspect arrived in the capital with a prepared canister of gasoline. While near the vehicle owned by the 67-year-old doctor, he doused it with a flammable substance and set it on fire. After the car ignited, the perpetrator attempted to flee but was apprehended nearby".
Details: Police arrested the arsonist, confiscating a lighter and a canister of flammable substance from him. Currently, they are investigating the motives behind the crime.
Additionally, it was established that during his escape, the suspect used force against a witness and began to threaten him.
Investigators, under the guidance of the Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office, have charged him with criminal offenses under part 2 of Article 194 (intentional destruction of another's property by arson) and Article 129 (threat of murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, a decision is being made regarding the preventive measure for the suspect. He faces up to ten years in prison for his actions.
