Ukraine and the Netherlands have signed a new memorandum aimed at collaborating on the protection of essential infrastructure.
This information was reported on the Dutch government portal, according to "European Truth".
The primary objective of this document is to enhance cooperative efforts between the two nations in safeguarding critical assets.
The parties have agreed to share knowledge and experience in threat detection, risk assessment, and resilience strategy development. The Netherlands will also assist Ukraine in aligning its legislation with EU standards.
This memorandum follows the security cooperation agreement signed by Ukraine and the Netherlands in March 2024.
"Critical infrastructure includes power plants, water supply systems, and other vital assets. Ukraine has been under attack for many years and serves as an example of resilience from which we can learn a lot," stated Dutch Minister of Justice and Security Dijk van Weel.
He emphasized that the Netherlands has considerable expertise in this field, while also acknowledging that Ukraine's approaches, particularly in redundancy and triple backup of critical systems, are unique and highly effective.
On May 8, it was reported that Romania and the Netherlands are establishing a joint training center for Ukrainian F-16 technical personnel.
The following day, it was revealed that the countries of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), which includes the Netherlands, invited Ukraine to join an expanded partnership.
