In recent weeks, the US has engaged in private discussions, contemplating the potential provision of security guarantees for an international military contingent that could be deployed in Ukraine following a peace agreement with Russia.

According to the publication, British officials acknowledge that specific terms from the US remain unclear.
Washington has not yet made official promises regarding military support in the event of an attack from Russia, and Trump has repeatedly expressed opposition to the idea of providing security guarantees. Nevertheless, in private conversations recently, American negotiators have made it clear they are open to supporting Western forces.
Quote: "One form of such support is intelligence sharing, which has long been a cornerstone of the 'special relationship' between the US and the UK.
Another aspect is logistical assistance. European aircraft, ships, and ground forces will require supplies and support in analyzing the movements of Russian troops within Ukraine and beyond."
Details: British officials emphasize the difficulty in predicting what Trump will approve and when.
"Negotiations are ongoing, and he (Trump – ed.) has stated several times that he will support us, as you know. I have made it clear that this is an essential component of everything we are planning," said UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in an interview with The Telegraph.
Quote: "Operational discussions regarding the 'coalition of the willing' have been divided into four conditional 'segments' of military activity: 'air', 'sea', 'land', and 'recovery'.
The first two segments involve European allies controlling the airspace over Ukraine and the Black Sea to prevent Russia from violating the peace conditions.
The third segment concerns troops stationed directly on Ukrainian territory. Meanwhile, the frontline with Russia after a possible peace treaty will be held by Ukrainian military forces, not Western ones.
The fourth aspect of the coalition's plans – 'recovery' – pertains to the long-term support of the Ukrainian military, currently regarded as one of the most combat-ready in Europe."
Details: It is anticipated that the British military training program for Ukrainian forces – operation Interflex – will be relocated from the UK to western Ukraine. However, the possibility of further deployment of British forces beyond this limited participation is still under consideration.
According to British plans, these four elements do not necessarily need to be engaged simultaneously. Likely, immediately after a ceasefire is reached, only Ukrainian forces will hold back the enemy, while allies will join gradually.
At the same time, it remains uncertain whether European allies will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine after the ceasefire, and whether the US will permit the sale of American weapons to Kyiv, as noted in the publication.
