Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga spoke out following recent airstrikes by Russia that occurred on the night of April 24, calling for international pressure on the aggressor to achieve peace.

Direct quote: "Russia's maximalist demands for Ukraine to withdraw its troops in conjunction with these brutal strikes indicate that it is Russia, not Ukraine, that is the obstacle to peace. Pressure should be applied to Moscow, not Kyiv."
Details: The minister reminded that Russia carried out a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine, targeting the civilian population in Kyiv and other regions.
He emphasized that the capital endured a particularly horrific night, with reports of 9 civilians killed and over 70 injured, including 6 children.
Other cities and locations throughout Ukraine also became targets for Russian missiles and drones, resulting in civilian casualties, Sybiga added.
"Putin's actions, not words, demonstrate that he disregards any peace efforts and only seeks to continue the war. Weakness and concessions will not stop his terror and aggression. Only strength and pressure can achieve that," noted the head of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry.
Previously: Just before this, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Russia is ready for a "peace agreement," but negotiating with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proves to be more challenging.
