Details: He emphasized the steadfast support of NATO and promised to continue assisting Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian people have endured so much – not just the Russian attack on Sumy on Palm Sunday. NATO's support is unwavering. We will continue to help Ukraine defend itself today and deter future aggression, ensuring a fair and lasting peace", – wrote Rutte.

In turn, Zelensky on X shared that he and Rutte visited a hospital where Ukrainian defenders are recovering from injuries. He also posted a video from this visit.

"We spoke with the warriors. I awarded the defenders with state honors. Thanks to the guys for their strength, resilience, and protection of our people", – he wrote.

On April 4, after the conclusion of the Alliance's ministerial meeting, Rutte stated that the Alliance's decision regarding Ukraine's NATO membership remains unchanged, despite all political statements.

On the same day, Kremlin negotiator Kirill Dmitriev, who was in Washington, stated that the Trump administration understands the Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin's position on Ukraine's impossibility of NATO membership.
