The agency reports that two unnamed European officials who recently communicated with Trump's administration indicated pressure on the Ukraine negotiation team for swift results.

This raised concerns that the U.S. might take actions that could jeopardize not only Ukraine but also the European security framework.

Sources mentioned that discussions with the White House did not provide reassurance, and there was no impression that the U.S. has clear end goals.

Two senior Western diplomats who maintain contact with the Trump administration told Reuters that, in their opinion, Washington lacks a "clear plan" on how to proceed and what to do if Russia continues to delay.

"We sometimes hear conflicting messages from different parts of the administration. This also adds to the feeling that there is no real plan in place," one diplomat told Reuters.

Reuters also learned that the White House has yet to establish a coordinated policy-making process regarding Ukraine.

"Contrary to standard practice, the National Security Council has held only one principals' meeting involving all or most of the President's key national security advisors on this issue," the article states.

The publication also noted that certain actions and statements from U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff regarding the resolution of the Russian invasion in Ukraine have drawn criticism within the White House and among Republicans.

Additionally, media outlets reported that high-ranking officials in Trump's administration have begun to acknowledge that the U.S. may not achieve a peace agreement regarding Ukraine in the coming months due to additional conditions being set by the Russian side during negotiations.
