Canada will steadfastly support Ukraine and categorically reject any peace agreements that may be imposed by Russia or made without Ukraine's involvement.

This was stated by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in an interview with Radio-Canada.

Canada is set to join a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine: what we know

The head of the Canadian government deemed the Kremlin's ultimatums, such as the demand for the removal of President Zelensky, unacceptable.

“I am proud of how the Canadian government and Canadians as a whole support the Ukrainian people. I categorically reject the possibility of peace being made without Ukraine's participation and any demands from... Putin...,” emphasized Carney.

Regarding a potential peacekeeping operation, the Prime Minister noted that Ottawa still needs to assess the conditions for possible involvement.

He also confirmed Canada's participation in the “Coalition of the Resolute,” coordinated by France and the UK, and discussions of related issues with leaders of these countries.

Macron may emerge as Europe's key leader in negotiations with Putin

French President Emmanuel Macron could become the main European leader during negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding peace in Ukraine.

The Telegraph reports that Macron has positioned himself as a mediator between Europe and Putin since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.

The French president has chosen to keep diplomatic channels open with Moscow longer than anyone among “the staunchest supporters of Kyiv in Europe,” despite sharp criticism of his actions.
