This was the second meeting between the Pope and Zelensky; the first took place on July 9. Overall, this marks the third discussion between the pontiff and the Ukrainian leader.
Zelensky is on a visit to Rome, where he has scheduled meetings, including one with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
