Ukraine is actively reinforcing its energy security as winter approaches. In a morning address, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced plans to finalize a new gas supply agreement with Greece.
According to him, this route will serve as an additional import pathway, providing further protection against winter risks and reducing reliance on existing supply channels.
The president noted that funding for gas imports has already been secured, amounting to nearly 2 billion euros. This funding aims to offset the losses in domestic gas production caused by Russian strikes on energy infrastructure.
As the president stated, "the Ukrainian government has allocated funds for imports, supported by our European partners, European banks – under guarantees from the European Commission, as well as Ukrainian banks, Norway, and ongoing collaboration with American partners – full funding will be in place. We are creating broad opportunities for winter supplies".
"Thank you to everyone who is helping us! Thank you to all those who stand with us, with Ukraine, and with the Ukrainian people! Glory to Ukraine!" he emphasized.
