This week, an important meeting will take place in Budapest between the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Hungary, Andrii Sybiha and Peter Szijjarto.

Peter Szijjarto announced this on his social media account.

“We are looking forward to meeting with Andrii Sybiha to discuss our relations. We believe in constructive dialogue and are ready for negotiations, but Ukraine needs to take steps to restore the rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia,” he emphasized.

Earlier, Sybiha called on his Hungarian counterpart for a productive discussion instead of conflicts on social media, aiming for pragmatic solutions. Hungary remains the only EU member state blocking the opening of the first cluster in Ukraine's EU accession talks, while the other 26 leaders supported this move at the summit on June 26.
