Leaders from two coalition factions of the Bundestag, Jens Spahn from the CDU/CSU and Matthias Miersch from the SPD, have arrived in Kyiv.

According to dpa, this marks the first joint visit of parliamentary group leaders to Ukraine. Additionally, it is the inaugural visit for both Spahn and Miersch. In Kyiv, they plan to hold discussions on Germany's continued support for Ukraine and diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
"We are here with Matthias Miersch to send a clear message: the government factions of the CDU/CSU and SPD stand now and in the future with Ukraine, the brave Ukrainians defending their homeland, their country, and Europe", Spahn stated during a press interaction after their arrival in Kyiv.
