Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko shared insights from the government meeting with G7 ambassadors concerning anti-corruption strategies.
Svyrydenko posted this update on her Facebook page.
On July 23, Ukrainian officials met with G7 representatives, where Svyrydenko emphasized Ukraine's zero tolerance for corruption.
She added that on the same day, President Volodymyr Zelensky initiated a new bill aimed at resolving existing discrepancies and enhancing the independence of anti-corruption agencies.
"These changes are particularly crucial in ensuring the autonomy of law enforcement agencies like NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office from any external influences."
Svyrydenko expressed gratitude to G7 partners for their support and principled stance.
Also present at the meeting was the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová, who noted the importance of NABU and SAP's effectiveness for Ukraine's path towards EU membership.
It should be noted that on July 23, the European Commission expressed serious concerns regarding a law that could compromise NABU and SAP's independence and requested clarification from Kyiv.
The European Parliament believes that such actions could jeopardize further assistance to Ukraine and its European aspirations.
