Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with Polish President Andrzej Duda to discuss support for Ukraine's air defense and the issue of sanctions against Russia.

In a Telegram message, Shmyhal stated: "I am honored to welcome President Duda to Kyiv on the 29th anniversary of Ukraine's Constitution. I am grateful for his efforts in supporting our country in various sectors amid Russia's aggression."

He also congratulated Duda on receiving the Order of Freedom, one of the highest state honors.

"This is a worthy recognition for President Duda's contribution to Ukraine's resilience. We appreciate his support for our country's European integration aspirations," Shmyhal emphasized.

Duda assured that he would continue to work on enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.

During their meeting, the Prime Minister informed the Polish President about the daily Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities using drones.

"Russia is increasing the number of attacks, employing a combination of ballistic and cruise missiles. Therefore, strengthening air defense remains our top priority. We hope for Poland's support in this area," Shmyhal noted.

They also discussed the situation on the front and expectations for further support from Europe, particularly through security programs.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of implementing the 18th sanctions package against Russia, which should be more severe.

"We also addressed the issue of frozen Russian assets. We need to find a mechanism for confiscation with subsequent use for Ukraine's reconstruction," he added.

Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Poland for its solidarity during difficult times, emphasizing that "together we are stronger."
