U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the NATO summit taking place on Wednesday in The Hague.

According to a correspondent from Ukrinform, Trump made this statement to reporters during his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in The Hague.

"We will discuss some challenges and concerns. Zelensky is a good guy, I mean. I’m meeting with him today. I don’t know. I suspect we will be talking about Ukraine. Yes, that seems to be the most likely topic," Trump commented on his scheduled meeting with the Ukrainian president.

In this context, the U.S. President pointed out that he had previously "talked a lot with Putin," adding that the Kremlin leader "was actually very nice."

"He (Putin – ed.) offered assistance regarding Iran. I said no, I don’t need help with Iran. I need help with Russia. I said: do me a favor, help us with Russia, not Iran. But he (Putin – ed.) was very pleasant. We are going to discuss this. I think there is progress," Trump said.

In this context, he also expressed his belief that "great progress is being made regarding Gaza." "I think that because of this attack we carried out, we will have very good news," he added.

As reported, a two-day NATO summit is ongoing in The Hague, with key issues including increased defense spending, strengthening the defense industry capabilities of Alliance countries, and continuing support for Ukraine.

According to the summit agenda, President Volodymyr Zelensky has scheduled meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump and other leaders of NATO member countries.
