Details: The Crown Prince arrived by train on the morning of May 20, disembarking at a station located outside the capital, likely in the Bucha-Irpin area. He was welcomed by the Norwegian ambassador and a Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mischenko.
Alongside the Crown Prince was also Minister of Energy Terje Aasland.
"This visit represents Norway's strong and ongoing support for the authorities of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," stated the royal family's press service.
The Crown Prince was arranged a visit to a hospital where injured Ukrainian soldiers are undergoing rehabilitation. He was also taken to a memorial for fallen defenders in Moshchun, a site of crucial battles during the defense of Kyiv in February-March 2022.
Further meetings are planned with representatives of the Ukrainian government and organizations supported by Norway.
This is the first visit by a member of the Norwegian royal family to Ukraine since the full-scale war began and overall since 2008, when Crown Princess Mette-Marit visited Kyiv.
