US President Donald Trump has stated that Ukraine should immediately agree to the negotiations proposed by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, scheduled for May 15 in Turkey.

Source: Trump shared this on his social platform Truth Social, as reported by "European Truth".

Details: Trump emphasized the necessity of accepting Moscow's proposal to initiate direct talks in Istanbul on May 15, despite the Kremlin's disregard for the demands of European leaders and Ukraine for a 30-day ceasefire.

Trump's direct quote: "President Putin does not want a peace deal with Ukraine, but instead wishes to meet on Thursday in Turkey to discuss a possible end to the conflict. Ukraine must agree to this immediately."

At the very least, they will be able to determine whether an agreement is possible or not, and if not, then European leaders and the US will understand the situation and can act accordingly.

Additional comments: He also expressed doubts about the possibility of an agreement between Ukraine and Russia, voicing displeasure over Moscow's appropriation of the victory over Nazi Germany.

"I am beginning to doubt whether Ukraine can reach a deal with Putin, who is too preoccupied with celebrating victory in World War II — a victory that could not have been achieved without the United States," he wrote.

Trump concluded his post with a statement in capital letters: "Hold that meeting, now!"
