The Ukrainian Cabinet has approved a new allocation of state funds for local budgets to purchase school buses in 2025.
This funding will be directed to 10 regions in urgent need of updating their vehicle fleet for transporting students and teachers.
This decision marks a crucial step towards ensuring quality and safe education for every child, regardless of their residence or security situation.
The subsidy will enable communities to acquire new school buses, including those specially equipped to transport children with special educational needs. Purchases will be made with local budget co-financing and through the Prozorro Market platform, which will significantly reduce the duration of the procurement processes.
The following regions will receive buses:
- Dnipropetrovsk Region
- Zaporozhye Region
- Kirovograd Region
- Mykolaiv Region
- Odesa Region
- Sumy Region
- Kharkiv Region
- Khmelnytskyi Region
- Cherkasy Region
- Chernihiv Region
The total amount of allocated subsidy is 273.7 million UAH.
This is part of a large government program, which plans to allocate 1.6 billion UAH in 2025 for the purchase of over 500 buses for communities. A priority will be given to hub schools, military lyceums, institutions accepting students from other areas, and schools that have lost transportation due to the war. It is important to note that since the beginning of the year, communities have already purchased 110 buses.
