The Munich Security Conference (MSC) in 2026 is drawing significant attention in light of current global events. According to the MSC chairman, Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, approximately 200 representatives from around 120 countries are expected to attend, including nearly 60 heads of state, 56 foreign ministers, and over 30 defense leaders.
Key topics for discussion include Germany's role on the world stage, Europe's ability to act cohesively on global issues, and the importance of transatlantic relations. Ischinger emphasized that these relationships are in need of renewed trust, highlighting the importance of U.S. representation at the forum, including participation from over 50 Congress members and high-level officials.
He also stressed the need for European countries to initiate actions that demonstrate their understanding of the consequences of the war in Ukraine, which will soon enter its fifth year.
It is anticipated that President Volodymyr Zelensky will lead the Ukrainian delegation. The 62nd Munich Security Conference will take place from February 13 to 15, 2026, and has deep roots, having been established in 1963.
