The authorities have reiterated the importance of using turn signals while driving.
This information was shared by the patrol police of the Kyiv region.
According to the police, drivers are required to signal with their turn indicators in the following situations:
before starting to move or stopping;
before changing lanes, turning, or making a U-turn.
Signals should be given in advance: in populated areas – 50-100 meters ahead, and outside of towns – 150-200 meters ahead. After completing the maneuver, the turn signal should be turned off immediately.
Fines for Violations
Recently in Boryspil, police recorded a violation: a driver of a Volkswagen T-Roc failed to activate the turn signal at the intersection of Kyivsky Shlyakh and Bezhivka streets.
The police stopped the vehicle and issued a report for violating the rules of using warning signals (Art. 122 of the Administrative Code).
Law enforcement urges drivers to adhere to traffic regulations and use turn signals, as this reduces the risk of accidents and ensures road safety.
Additionally, it is reminded that with the arrival of warmer weather, drivers are advised to switch from winter tires to summer ones. This is crucial not only for the longevity of the tires but also for safety, as winter tires have poorer grip on hot asphalt. Currently, there are no fines for using winter tires during warm weather in Ukraine, but this may change.
