In December 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia will launch winter train services on children's railways in four cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, and Rivne.

The Kyiv Children's Railway will open on December 25.

From December 17, schedules and tickets will be available online, both in the app and on the Ukrzaliznytsia website.

Planning a winter trip with children, family, or friends has never been easier—no lines, and you can choose a convenient time in your desired city.

For each ticket purchased, 250 «hugs» will be credited, which can be exchanged for discounts and services from partners in the loyalty program.

This year's travel costs are as follows: general carriage — 80 UAH (child) and 110 UAH (adult); retro carriage — 90 UAH (child) and 130 UAH (adult); luxury class carriage — 100 UAH (child) and 150 UAH (adult).

For those dreaming of becoming a train driver, dispatcher, or conductor, the UZ website provides information for signing up for free training for children aged 10–12 years.

The Kyiv Children's Railway is located at: Parkovo-Syretska Street, 4. The nearest station is «Syrets».

The Kyiv-Passenger Children's Station is a miniature replica of the Central Railway Station in the capital. Passengers on the children's train will see 27 steles with information about regional centers of Ukraine, as well as Kyiv and Sevastopol, receiving reference and heraldic information, and learning about local attractions.

Interestingly, the first train on the Kyiv Children's Railway ran on August 2, 1953. In 2018, a major reconstruction began, and now the route length is 6.7 km, with two stations — «Kyiv-Passenger — Children's» and «Railway».
