On the morning of December 5th, emergency power outages are taking place in Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk regions, and partially in Kirovohrad region. This was reported by the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" on Facebook.
"Currently, emergency shutdowns are being enforced in Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and partially in Kirovohrad regions. Previously announced power cut schedules in these areas are temporarily suspended. Emergency outages will be lifted as soon as the situation in the energy system stabilizes," the message states.
Due to Russian attacks, energy equipment has been damaged in several regions, leading to local outages for consumers. Emergency recovery work has already begun.
As of 9:30 AM on Friday, electricity consumption was 1.5% higher than the previous day due to a lower volume of outages compared to the prior day.
"The need for energy conservation remains. Please limit the use of high-power electrical devices. If possible, transfer energy-intensive processes to nighttime hours – after 10 PM," advises Ukrenergo.
It was previously reported that on December 5th, power cut schedules ranging from 0.5 to 3 shifts are in effect in all regions of Ukraine.
