The BBC Two documentary titled «Hell Jumper» focusing on the Russia-Ukraine conflict has been honored with an international Emmy award in the documentary category. According to BBC, the film tells the story of 28-year-old British volunteer Chris Perry, who traveled to Ukraine with friends to assist in evacuating people from combat zones and delivering humanitarian aid.
In early 2023, Chris Perry and his friend Andrew Begshaw lost their lives while trying to evacuate a woman from an area heavily bombarded in Eastern Ukraine.
The film «Hell Jumper» was produced by Expectation TV and directed by Paddy Wivell.
The premiere took place at this year's BAFTA ceremony, and the film also received two awards at the Prix Italia 2025.
The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released the official qualification lists of films eligible for consideration at the 98th Academy Awards, including the film «2000 Meters to Andriivka» by Ukrainian director Myroslav Chernov.
