The Kyiv region will soon welcome 260 modern buses from the Île-de-France region, as announced by Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
According to him, some of the buses will be delivered to local communities this year, while the rest will arrive as per an agreed logistics schedule.
«This is a significant step in developing our transport infrastructure and another demonstration of the reliable support from our French partners», — noted Kalashnyk.
The buses are fully serviced and equipped with electric ramps for people with reduced mobility, surveillance cameras, emergency response buttons, validators for the implementation of e-tickets, and GPS trackers for movement monitoring. The French side is also providing a complete set of spare parts.
The head of the administration emphasized that local engineers possess the necessary skills for prompt technical maintenance, ensuring the stable operation of the transport on routes.
Kalashnyk reminded that the full-scale invasion caused significant losses in the transport sector of Kyiv region: over a hundred buses were destroyed or damaged by Russian attacks, and the school transport network lost dozens of vehicles—some were stolen during the occupation, while others were destroyed or repurposed for the needs of the Armed Forces.
The head of the administration thanked the president of the Île-de-France regional council, Valérie Pécresse, for her support: «Thanks to such decisions, Kyiv region is receiving not just buses—we are restoring mobility for our residents, revitalizing the normal life of communities, and strengthening resilience».
