A serious train accident occurred in the Czech Republic, injuring 40 people, including five with severe injuries. According to Radio Prague International, the incident happened when an express train traveling from České Budějovice to Plzeň collided with a regional train on the line between Zliv and Dívčice.
Passengers from both trains were evacuated. In total, 40 individuals were affected by the incident, with five being hospitalized due to serious injuries.
Train services between České Budějovice and Plzeň have been halted, and it is expected that they will resume only in the afternoon.
Authorities are currently investigating the causes of the accident.
