In Kyiv, near the Arch of Freedom, a memorial honoring military engineers has been inaugurated. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on social media.
“This memorial pays tribute to military engineers, who pave the way through minefields and obstacles. They are always at the forefront,” the General Staff stated.
The monument symbolizes deep respect and gratitude for those who have given their lives, as well as those currently serving on the front lines.
Military engineers are not only sappers but also include fortification specialists, technical support, and drone defense, the General Staff emphasized.
Government officials, military personnel, clergy, and residents of the capital gathered to honor the fallen with a moment of silence. Military chaplains led a prayer and blessed the memorial.
“May this small symbol remind future generations of the daily heroism of military engineers,” the General Staff added.
It is also noted that in Ukraine, November 3 is celebrated as the Day of Military Engineers, established by a presidential decree on October 27, 1999.
