In a historic move, Kyiv will introduce a double-decker bus on route No. 57 for the first time. The MAN A39 bus, a gift from our sister city Berlin, will operate in test mode this weekend. According to Autoconsulting, the bus will only run on weekends to assess its operational feasibility for public routes.
The double-decker bus will offer 83 seating places: 28 on the lower deck and 55 on the upper deck, along with 45 standing spots exclusively on the lower level.
This bus meets accessibility standards: it features a low floor, two spaces for wheelchair users, a stroller area, and two ramps.
The bus will operate on Saturdays and Sundays between the "Akademmistechko" metro station and the "Chapaevka" market stop from 9:43 AM to 6:53 PM.
Additionally, another double-decker MAN bus will serve as a sightseeing tour vehicle.
