“Ukrzaliznytsia” is continuously innovating to enhance passenger services, particularly for those traveling with children. Starting February 27, 2025, a new children's carriage will be introduced on the international route of train No. 351/352 from Kyiv to Chișinău. This initiative aims to make family travel with young children more convenient and enjoyable.
New Children's Carriage on Chișinău Route: What to Know?
This carriage features special amenities designed to ensure comfort and safety for young passengers. It includes ramps for strollers, play areas for toddlers, changing tables, and hypoallergenic bedding. Additional focus is placed on entertainment and food options, with themed compartments, the ability to warm baby food, and a specialized children's menu to make the journey even more enjoyable. It is important to note that the carriage is fully certified for international travel, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards.
The carriage is suitable for families with children of all ages, particularly accommodating infants and children under 8 years old. During boarding, young passengers will receive special wristbands indicating their compartment and parents' contact information. The corridor will feature interactive posters, busy boards with movable elements, and soft-covered handrails for safe movement within the carriage. The design incorporates materials from the preschool development platform «NUMO», created by a team of UNICEF experts in Ukraine with support from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The children's carriage will operate as part of train No. 351/352 from Kyiv to Chișinău. The train departs Kyiv at 17:05 and arrives in Chișinău at 11:30 the following day. On the return journey, it leaves Chișinău at 17:34 and arrives in Kyiv at 12:20. To purchase tickets for this carriage, passengers should look for the special designation «Children's Carriage». Ticket prices may vary depending on various factors, so it is advisable to check the price directly before purchasing. Sales for tickets on the children's carriage have already begun.
This initiative by “Ukrzaliznytsia” demonstrates the company's commitment to ongoing development and improvement of services, especially for families with children who require special attention and comfort during travel. According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, over 2.5 million mothers with children crossed the border in 2023, indicating a significant demand for comfortable travel conditions for this passenger category.
