The Security Service of Ukraine has introduced a new enhanced generation of unmanned sea platforms known as «Sea Baby». These drones have successfully undergone testing during missions in the Black Sea, including participation in the third strike against the Crimean Bridge that occurred on June 3, 2025.
«Our unmanned platforms have significantly altered the balance of power in the Black Sea and confirmed their effectiveness. The new generation of «Sea Baby» is even more powerful. Therefore, we will continue to cleanse the Black Sea of enemy forces. The adversary will feel the full strength of our technologies», emphasized the Head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk.
According to Brigadier General Ivan Lukashov («Hunter»), during this year's operation against the Crimean Bridge, the «little sea drones» delivered explosives to the target point, which were then used to blow up the supports of this illegal structure.
The new modifications of «Sea Baby» were developed using funds raised by the Ukrainian people through the UNITED24 platform.
As reported by one of the leaders of the military counterintelligence of the SBU overseeing the activities of the 13th Main Directorate of DVC «Hunter», the upgraded drones can cover distances exceeding 1500 km, carry up to 2000 kg of cargo, have enhanced engines, and a modern navigation system.
The SBU development team showcased two drones armed with different weaponry. The first one is equipped with a gyrostabilized machine gun mount with target acquisition and recognition capabilities. The second one carries heavy armament: a 10-tube rocket launch system «Grad».
«The SBU is the ideologist of a new type of naval warfare. We are constantly seeking effective means to maintain Ukraine's superiority in the Black Sea. President Volodymyr Zelensky's task is to neutralize the powerful Russian naval fleet. We are actively working on this», emphasized Ivan Lukashov.
The Security Service continuously develops other advanced weaponry and has already successfully employed them in the Black Sea. However, detailed information regarding these assets is currently not available for disclosure.
It is worth noting that Ukraine's active use of unmanned platforms has forced Russia to relocate most of its military vessels to the Novorossiysk bay, allowing for the unblocking of the «grain corridor».
