The U.S. Secret Service has announced the arrest of a driver who crashed into the gates of the White House on Tuesday night. This was reported by The Washington Post.
The incident occurred around 10:40 PM local time at the vehicle entry gates to the White House.
Details regarding the reason for the crash, the speed of the vehicle, and whether the driver was injured remain unknown.
The location of the incident is just a few hundred meters from President Donald Trump’s residence.
The Secret Service stated that the driver was promptly apprehended by their personnel. The driver's name has not yet been made public, and no charges have been filed against him.
An investigation began early Wednesday morning.
