On October 17, Kyiv received four more ambulances from Brussels, which will be handed over to defenders. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko.
Since the onset of the full-scale war, the Brussels community has provided the Ukrainian capital with nine ambulances, including today's.
The previous five vehicles have been crucial in saving the health and lives of Kyiv's residents, especially after enemy shelling.
The capital's mayor explained that Brussels is assisting in equipping urban medical facilities and training our medical staff. Throughout the war, they have sent humanitarian aid, equipment, and special vehicles to Kyiv.
“Today, together with the mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, we visited the prosthetic center 'Human Titans,' which was opened in late summer at one of the city hospitals. The facility helps injured soldiers and civilians who need modern prosthetics and rehabilitation. It is equipped with a 3D scanner for producing high-precision prosthetic components,” Vitali Klitschko stated.
The center was established with the support of the mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, and the charity organization Life Bridge Ukraine, along with the involvement of ONUR GROUP Ukraine.
Currently, 13 veterans from various regions of Ukraine are undergoing prosthetics and rehabilitation at the center. Three of them are already in the final stages.
Additionally, six prosthetists from Kyiv have undergone training at prosthetic centers in Berlin.
Under the project, over 60 Ukrainian soldiers with amputations of varying degrees have received prosthetics at the Bundeswehr military hospital.
“Now, injured defenders receive prosthetics at the center operating in Kyiv. The implementation of such projects demonstrates the strength of partnerships between European cities. This partnership helps save the health and lives of Ukrainians,” emphasized Vitali Klitschko.
