Chemical Spill in Obukhiv District: Nitric Acid Incident

A nitric acid spill occurred in the Obukhiv district of Kyiv region, with no threat to the local population.

In the Kyiv region, a chemical spill of approximately one cubic meter of nitric acid from a tanker took place on the highway in the village of Rosava in the Obukhiv district. This was reported by the State Emergency Service on their Facebook page.
Ukrainian emergency response specialists, including the radiation-chemical and biological protection group from Bila Tserkva, in collaboration with the Mobile Rapid Response Center and experts from the Kyiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, quickly addressed the situation.
Rescuers successfully transferred the acid into another container, preventing further spread of the hazardous substance. There is no threat to the local population.
