During the night of October 15 to 16, millions of individuals around the globe reported difficulties accessing the video platform YouTube and its services. The YouTube team acknowledged this issue.
The company confirmed that users faced playback issues on YouTube, YouTube Music, and YouTube TV.
Later, they announced that the problem had been resolved, allowing users to resume video playback, but did not specify the cause of the disruptions.
According to NetBlocks, which monitors internet access and various services globally, this incident was not linked to any internet outages or government-level filtering.
Data from Downdetector indicated that the highest number of complaints was recorded at 2:36 AM on October 16, with over 330,000 users reporting issues with YouTube. Complaints were reported from Ukraine, the USA, the UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, and several other countries.
