A new memorial dedicated to "Military Chaplains" has been unveiled at Defender's Alley, near the Freedom Arch. This event was reported by the Military Chaplaincy Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The unveiling took place on October 12, which is recognized as Military Chaplains Day.
“This new sign is a symbol of our deep gratitude and respect for the selfless service of military clergy, who stand alongside soldiers, offering them words of support, prayer, and faith. It immortalizes the contribution of military chaplains to Ukraine's defense and security against the aggression of the Russian Federation,” the statement reads.
Among the attendees were representatives of the government, officers of the Military Chaplaincy, chaplains from various faiths, military personnel, artists from the cultural community “Cultural Forces,” and residents and visitors of the capital.
Following the ceremony, an interfaith prayer service for Ukraine was held at St. Sophia's Cathedral.
“On this sunny autumn day, participants honored all military chaplains with a moment of silence and a joint prayer, standing in solidarity with soldiers and believing in Ukraine's victory,” the Military Chaplaincy Service reported.
