In the city of Rivne, emergency services successfully dealt with a gas leak at a gas station during the night, and there was no threat to the community. This was reported by the main department of the State Emergency Service on their Facebook page.
«On the night of October 9, a gas leak occurred at a gas station located on Kyivska Street in Rivne. Emergency responders, chemists, and police arrived on the scene promptly. The leak originated from a container with a volume of 7 cubic meters, and the gas cloud extended over an area of 15 square meters,» the message states.
Two emergency response units from the 3rd State Fire and Rescue Department of Rivne, along with a special vehicle for radiation and chemical reconnaissance and the operational coordination center of the regional administration, were dispatched to the site.
Power was cut off to the gas station and the adjacent residential area, and police cordoned off the area.
Firefighters quickly shut off the valve, effectively stopping the gas leak. Following this, a radiation and chemical reconnaissance team conducted measurements of the dangerous substance concentration in the air using chemical reconnaissance devices, and no exceedances of permissible gas concentration levels were found.
It was emphasized that the situation was fully controlled by the rescuers, and there was no threat to the public. A total of 4 special vehicles and 12 firefighters were involved in this operation.
