Starting from October 8, students in Ukraine will receive a year of free access to Google’s Gemini and AI Pro tools.

This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, via Telegram.

«Students need modern tools to learn more effectively and develop their skills. Starting today, Google offers students over 18 years old a complimentary annual subscription to the Google AI Pro toolkit,» the statement reads.

As a result, students from Ukrainian universities will have access to the following services:

  • Gemini 2.5 Pro – a chat tool for academic assistance and tackling complex topics. Users can upload photos to receive real-time explanations;
  • Deep Research – a tool that independently analyzes hundreds of sources and creates structured reports, saving hours in preparing coursework or essays;
  • NotebookLM – a personal assistant for organizing notes and knowledge, now with enhanced audio and video analysis capabilities;
  • Veo 3 – converts text or photos into an 8-second video with sound;
  • Jules – an AI assistant for programming that helps write, test, and enhance code;
  • 2 TB of cloud storage – ample space for all notes, documents, and projects.

To participate in the program, registration on the website is required.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has announced a new phase of collaboration with Google, focusing on the use of AI technologies to develop state AI products in Ukraine.
