Since the beginning of the year, the municipal enterprises of Kyiv have been diligently working on improving the accessibility of pedestrian crossings, installing tactile navigation at 327 locations. These initiatives are taking place throughout the city. This was reported by the municipal corporation «Kyivavtodor».
Additionally, barrier-free approaches to socially important sites are being developed. This work includes the installation of tactile navigation and the creation of accessible walking routes from public transport stops to essential community facilities.
So far, work has been completed at 23 such sites, with plans to finish an additional 28 barrier-free approaches by the end of the year.
According to «Kyivavtodor», all necessary project solutions for creating barrier-free spaces are being implemented as part of capital repairs and reconstruction of the street and road network.
All efforts to enhance physical accessibility on the city’s roads are carried out in collaboration with relevant NGOs focused on inclusion and accessibility issues.
