Under the title "Veterans and Youth: Support and Understanding," an event was organized by the "Kyiv Military Hub" for students of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University. The aim of this event was to cultivate an active civic stance among youth through direct communication with veterans who participated in military actions.
During the meeting, representatives of the "Kyiv Military Hub" introduced students to their main activities. The youth also had the opportunity to view photographs of the Hero of Ukraine, Ruslan Borovyk, who died on April 29, 2022, during fierce battles in Kharkiv region.
Veterans shared their experiences and stories of participating in military actions. Military psychologist Vera spoke about her mission, the goals of the "Kyiv Military Hub," and the importance of societal support for veterans.
"In critical moments of combat, it is essential not only to complete the mission but also to provide psychological support to comrades. The morale of the fighters significantly influences both the success of operations and their subsequent rehabilitation," Vera noted.
Roman Ushev, Mykhailo Pleshakov, and Vladyslav Bitkovskyi shared their life stories, discussing the challenges veterans face after completing their service.
"War does not end when you leave the battlefield. It stays within you. It’s crucial for both fighters and society to understand that rehabilitation is a long-term process requiring support and understanding," emphasized Roman Ushev.
Additionally, students had the chance to converse with veterans and discuss important aspects of rehabilitation, psychological support, and social adaptation after war.
The presentation of the activities of the "Kyiv Military Hub" demonstrated to the youth that veterans not only defend the country on the battlefield but also continue their essential mission through support and rehabilitation of their comrades in civilian life.
